Success Stories

Many productions have discovered the advantages of coming to Michigan. The production companies have been pleased with the results, and hundreds of residents, vendors and business owners have had positive experiences, also. Here are a few of their stories.

“I have also farmed work out to others in the area, such as antique stores, artists, a photographer, etc. There are many independents and young people now too, benefitting from the available free lance work, who may not be on the state's radar, but are still able to sustain themselves with a living wage.”

-- Marisa Gaggino, Proprietor

Heritage Co. II Archectectural Artifact, Royal Oak

A buyer/seller of antiques and found objects since 1992, proprietor Marisa Gaggino has seen an increasing amount of film activity, tapping in perfectly to the eclectic nature of the operation, which carries anything from carnival cars and old signs to industrial and school furniture and equipment.

Heritage specializes in off-beat items, which worked perfectly when the Red Dawn production needed specially aged wood pieces for a scene, and was able to find them in an abandoned field and have them delivered to the set in an hour’s time. Part retailer, part personal shopper, Ms. Gaggino is able to address specific needs of its clientele, even meeting stylists at both late night and early morning hours to accommodate demand.
