Success Stories

Many productions have discovered the advantages of coming to Michigan. The production companies have been pleased with the results, and hundreds of residents, vendors and business owners have had positive experiences, also. Here are a few of their stories.

"It was a fairly brief stay, but a great shot in the arm with all those rooms. We also avoided any conflict with our weekend football business. I'll take that kind of business any time."

-- Barry Hewelt, Sales Manager

Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn, Lansing

For two Marriott hotel properties at the Lansing-Delta Twp. border, business the past two years has been reflective of the state's economy, which hit the Lansing area particularly hard. A welcome respite arrived last fall when Red Dawn, having already filmed throughout metro Detroit, came to shoot key scenes in the woods of nearby Grand Ledge.

The hotels were well prepared for a film crew, while the production's large fleet of trucks and vehicles were ably situated without displacing any hotel parking.
