Success Stories

Many productions have discovered the advantages of coming to Michigan. The production companies have been pleased with the results, and hundreds of residents, vendors and business owners have had positive experiences, also. Here are a few of their stories.

“The benefits of the event consisted of much more than dollars raised, as (producers) Amy and Tina Webber did so much legwork for the event, including the PSA, and mentioning us in countless interviews. Plus, delivering our message personally to a live audience of 1,300 is invaluable.”

-- Paula Brown, Chief Development Officer

Starfish Family Services, Inkster

This non-profit organization was a fitting beneficiary of the recent benefit premiere held for Annabelle & Bear, the touching, 100% Michigan made film about a single man thrust unexpectedly into caring for his young daughter who was abandoned by his ex-wife.

The organization, founded in 1963, helps families in poverty by providing early child development and parenting programs, services, and emergency shelter to teens and youth in crisis, reflective of the movie’s themes.

The film premiere was held on February 20 at a sold-out Music Hall in downtown Detroit, raising needed funds, and perhaps more importantly, media attention and public awareness about the organization and its cause.
Net proceeds from Premiere: $5,000
Premiere attendance: 1,300
Media value: Radio broadcast PSA; interview on WWJ AM and other outlets
