Hollywood Makes a Stop in Mid Michigan

Wednesday it was an Ingham County landmark in Mason, Michigan, but Thursday it will become a courthouse in Ingham County, Texas.
"We've been blessed with a movie shoot here in Michigan. The movie is real steel." Ingham County's Facilities Director, Rick Terrill, said.
It's a film about robot boxing and they needed a historic looking courthouse to shoot several scenes. So now a big name actor is coming to this tiny town.
"It's a Dream Works movie with Hugh Jackman, and it's a lot of excitement for the whole town." Ingham County worker, Karen Couretas, said.
Excitement that's been going on for months. To get ready for the movie the courthouse got a mini makeover. They redid the floors, replanted the flowers and repainted the walls.
"Of course all of this is at the expense of the movie, they're reimbursing the County." Terrill said.
They're also casting county workers.
"I'm an extra, otherwise known as a background actor, and I'm a lawyer." Couretas explained.
News that is just adding to the town talk.
"It's a lot of exposure for Mason and people are excited, you know people are proud of their town. It's cool to have something like this come here." Couretas said.
All the action isn't just exciting, it's also really good for the area.
"I know about 30 or 40 people that went over to the restaurant and had lunch today, and people buy gas and people are spending the night in Lansing." Crew Member Barry Brancart said.
Which means money is coming to Mid-Michigan all because Mason made it into the movies.
